Planning your operation
What to expect when you have your operation
Should you need an operation you will have ample time in the clinic to discuss the procedure in as much detail as you wish. You will be given a guide to how quickly you can return to the activities which are important to you, allowing you to plan your recovery.
On the day of surgery you will be seen by Mr Standley, with sufficient time to go through any remaining, last minute, questions.
Mr Standley performs your surgery, personally.
Following surgery your recovery will be closely monitored by Mr Standley to ensure the best result for you. Commonly the stiches used are dissolvable, minimising inconvenience to you. When it is not possible to use these stitches then the experienced nurses at the hospital will arrange their removal.
Most patients do not require any post-operative therapy, but this will be arranged at you convenience.
